Results Race #1 Winter Series
Glenhuntly Athletic Club - Latest News
Well done to all of you who took up the challenge last week to run virtually. Running on your own or in pairs is never quite the same as running in a larger group, especially if you're keen to run fast. So, it was a darn good effort shown by all who put their reputations on the line!
Congratulations!
Results are shown below, in age group categories.
Special shout outs to the following efforts!
Well done to Dana Dekkers for getting the fastest 3 km time overall, men and women.
Chris Winter was in fine form, coming in over a kilometre ahead of everyone else for the 30-minute run.
How impressive was Madison King - she was 2nd fastest outright, and our youngest participant!
Super efforts from our rivals at Athletics Essendon, John Cooper, Stephen Murphy and David Jones - it was great to have you come on board and run with us in spirit.
Great to see the Junior Team Manager, Mary Harper, out there, too. Look out, Mary, we will be recruiting you onto our Masters Women team for summer!

What's next?
We had lower numbers participate in Race #1 than expected, given last year we saw about 60 to 100 athletes register for our virtual races. We assume many of you had probably been enjoying the return to events and, hence, perhaps were not feeling like a return to virtual ... we totally get that! However, with Melbourne Lockdown 6.2 looking like extending into Lockdown 6.3 and given the cancellation of our XCR season, we will continue to offer virtual events, and hope to see more join in the next one. We had some feedback and so are making the next race options shorter. Check out Race #2 info below.
